Floyd Mayweather switch to mixed martial arts? or so he mumbled?

Mixed Martial Arts
RICK asked:

He’s a good boxer, an outstanding one to be exact. But if he played the same game he plays on the ring he would be ripped apart, limb by limb. I would love to see BJ Pen, St pierre, Roger Huerta, or Nick Diaz beat mayweather’s face in and end it with a triangle complemented with more pummeling to mayweather’s face… what’s your opinion on mayweather switching MMA (mixed martial arts) keep the answers with the question please.

BIG HENRY

I doubt if it takes place.

Maybe to entice Mayweather other than the money, he may offer to fight the Champion on their turf and rematch on his.

He has speed and conditioning but obviously not grappling.

If he could PERFECT the Art of Sprawl and Brawl. He may be unstoppable.

We will see.

Mayweather would kill any guy entering that ring or cage or whatever. But for him to actually move into mixed martial arts is highly unlikely, because boxers are better fighters than MMA guys. Yet I could see a MMA fight than a boxing match and see how it evens out.

….i would love to see any of your fighters “attempt” to go toe-toe with Money Mayweather.

i can envision all of your mma fighters getting dotted all night long, check hooked, and maybe pimp slapped, one by one.

…realistically, that won’t happen.

All of your fighters know better not to go toe-toe with Money Mayweather and would resort to “Woosin’ Out (Please Don’t Hit Me Anymore)” by going for the double leg takedown after getting “dink- dink -dinked” by a couple of quick pop shots.

i think it would be a disaster move for Floyd and would prefer him to stick to boxing.

just a way to keep talking about him after he retires…he may actually see this as a Promoter and may just want to promote fighters such as the ones you guys metioned…i cannot see mayweather at his age try to fight but if he did it would be a one time fight against the top fighter in his weight class…but since he has been talking about this move with Mark Cuban, who is not a fighter, i would think he just wants to try and corner the market and become the first mega promoter in UFC…. from all i am hearing he is just looking into it and has not even metioned facing an actual fighter

MMA guys have had fun beating on washed up boxers. But they’d have no chance against a guy like Money May. No chance for hugging and mounting as Floyd would just overwhelm every MMA-fighter in seconds. I’ve always looked at MMA guys as folks who weren’t athletic enough to make it in boxing and need to use chokeholds and knees and elbows as equalizers. Floyd Mayweather is the last thing MMA needs, boxers would take over their sport.

And don’t forget all the half-naked full mounting and hugging. That’s some exciting stuff seeing guys wrapping their legs around each other’s crotches.

I am a big mayweather fan but if he switches hes going to get killed and I cant sit their and watch one of my Idols get demolished he should just get his weight up and go on to Heavyweight.

fast hands

Mayweather would be introduced to the term “Ground and Pound” then he would take a vicious beating. Hopefully the ref wound intervene before he was rendered “Coma bound.”

This is highly unlikely due to Mayweather being a huge money fighter and He would not be title fighting in MMA right off…..therefore he would not produce the type of money he would require of them in order for this fight to happen.

However…Mayweather would not walk in the cage and dominate the MMA world as he does in Boxing…..these guys train daily on how to effectively take down there opponent and ground and pound them. Not to add for him to challenge a BJJ expert would be like me saying I want to enter the ring with him…..its not logical.

Alot of people do not like to see the roll on the floor and wrestling as they call it….but what they do not understand is it is two highly skilled ground fighters countering the ground game against one another til the other makes that fatal mistake and the other capitalizes on it. It is no different than boxing…they punch and jab til one makes the mistake of dropping guard or is countered big time and the other capitalizes on it.

Would be a huge mistake for Mayweather financially and defeat reasons…..he had better stay with boxing ….where he is dominate.
