All the people who said that Pride fighters are better than UFC fighters were wrong?

I know. How funny would it be if Fedor got signed and beat by Couture? Dont say it couldnt happen, because Forest couldnt beat Shogun either, right? I still think that the influx of Pride fighters has made the UFC more exciting though because they are obviously talented.

i dunno what the effect of the cage is or the effect of the rules have on fighters but i didnt think it would be this extreme. I expected a couple of losses but WOW!!!!!!!!!!!

actually your wrong, the pride fighters are more welll versed and internationally known, with a whole different set of rules. I would like to see some fights in a ring where they should be with pride vs ufc with old pride rules. It’s a set up against pride fighters . Forrest has known about the fight long before shogun ever did. plus with rule changes, You cann’t say ufc or pride had better fighters because if shogun was allowed to face stomp or soccer kick to the head while forrest was down the out come could be diffferent.

Yes. Anyone who said either side was better was wrong. It shouldn’t matter. Why do we care that UFC fighters were supposed to lose to PRIDE fighters or vice versa. Shogun lost to Forrest. Rampage beat Liddell. That’s all we need to know.

As long as PRIDE FC fighters have UFC Gold around their waist then they won the war, even though Forest may have won last nights battle. Pride was better because of the rules, the ring, the 10 minute first round. The fighters are all same all over the world. It really does not matter who signs your check. If you are a knowledgeable MMA fan then you could go back and forth and name fighters from different orgs that have beaten each other. No fighter is unbeatable. These guys would never make it the the UFC or whatever org if they to did not have ability also. You can name almost any fighter to me and I could name somebody in another org that has beaten him. Shogun is a good fighter, many thought he was the best 205lb. in the world, but you can not discount the UFC rule change and the Octagon, along with the fact he has not fought in a long time. But lets not make excuses because if Forest was not a good fighter then he would not be in the cage himself. I still say 2 Pride guys have UFC gold belts, and that is significant and is a bigger accomplishment.

If you look at all results of meaningful fights, the Pride fighters definitely seem over-rated. Of the following fighters, the Pride fighters were favored, but lost to UFC: Herring, Cro-Cop twice, Gomi, Werdum, now Sho-gun. Rampage is the only exception- one can also state that Rampage caught Liddel over the hill.

As far as UFC fighters not doing well in Pride- the only elite fighter that did not win is Liddel (who lost to Rampage, but beat many others including Overeem). There is a long list of Pride fighters that did not do well in the UFC like Wandy Silva, Sakuraba, Sakurai (almost any elite Japanese fighter).
