sure! that would be cool…btw my sister is convinced that there should be a sycranized skiing event in the winter owlmpics…what would u think of that?!?!
Aug 11 2008
Not yet, when it gets really huge throughout out the world.
Because right now, I don’t many countries mma is huge yet, but eventually they should put in mma,
they have boxing and judo why not mma.
Aug 11 2008
I would totally watch it. I guess I don’t see why it isn’t either!
Aug 13 2008
Yes everybody do some Kung Fu fighting!
Aug 16 2008
I no! Like the other dude said, it has to get bigger in order to be included in the olympics. Judo, wrestling, and Tae Kwon Do are in the Olympics because they are pretty big (plus i’m in Tae Kwon Do.) Once Mixed Martial Arts becomes big enough, they’ll include it. Just have to be patient is all.

no, we already have boxing, wrestling, taekwondo, and judo. Why would we want to see a sport that stole everything from these art/ sports. No need for another one.
Aug 17 2008
Yes, since it was in the ancient Greek Olympics (then called Pankration), it seems fitting to bring it back in the modern ones.
However, it would be tricky to actually have a multi-round single elimination tournament, since the risk of injury even to the winner of an mma match is pretty high. Say you had 16 countries enter in a given weight class. To win the gold you would have to win 4 matches in 2 weeks. The odds of getting injured along the way are very high, so I think you would end up with a lot of alternates in the later rounds.

if it stays as popular as it is, it will be. it took 40 years for taekwondo to become an olympic sport, and MMA’s only been here for 10.
Aug 22 2008
Well all the Boxing, TKD, Judo, and Wrestling people would all oppose it, because if MMA becomes part of the olympics, all of those will become obsolete.
Aug 24 2008
why not. the details suck. ring or cage. allow randy and fedor or no. is it used just to make bigger names bigger or promote guys like kimbo to the world. or are you going to show amateurs with ten fights. how are they going to judge it. will it be ten point must or another. who will judge it. are they going to to use head gear like they do in boxing and tae kwon do. there are literally thousand so details that have to go in to it. did you know that mma is illegal in some country’s. this sport is a baby. I am a fighter and I would rather see skate boarding in the olympics because as of right now it could hurt the sport way more than help
Aug 26 2008
First it would have to be bigger.
But, no it can’t be included and here’s why:
Too much recovery time is needed between fights. Its not like other sports that can compete on consecutive days.
There would be too many instances of fighters not being able to continue do to cuts, swollen eyes, etc.
I would like to see it, but it won’t happen any time soon.
Hope this helps

id like to see it, but there would be not nearly enough time for fighters to heal and recover…with the possibility of cuts from elbows or knees, many of the fighters may win and then not be able to fight in later rounds. If you look at some info after MMA events in the states fighters will often be suspended for 30-60 days of limited contact based on cuts, pulls, tears, or concussions. So id love to see it but it seems implausible.
