im not sure how you can do a pro mma tournament or event or whatever, but it’s pretty easy to hold an amateur MMA event. My former instructor once held one, what he did was he rented a basketball cout, talked to whomever was in-charge so he could rent it, put on a few mats from the gym, got the referees and officials from some other MMA club he knew, posted a few posters about the event on different gyms, and about a month later it was a held. Pretty easy.

You need to be licensed by the state commission, medical staff, a venue, and fighters.

My boyfriend has put on some shows. First, let me tell you it takes lots of money! The bonds, insurance, all that legal stuff can cost you. You’d want to be in contact with your local athletic commission to make sure you follow all rules. My boyfriend had done some fights and had been in contact with fighters and fight teams. (One guy in his last show actually went to UFC).
I don’t know if there are any specific courses out there. I would think if you have some kind of business degree that would help. Plus you’d want to be very organized!
My boyfriend works a part time job and goes to college, he never took any special classes or anything. I think who he knew helped him get it all together.
One problem he ran across was that lots of fighters would back out of the fight at the last minute. I think he learned that next time he may want to have them sign a contract because it really put his butt on the line.
