How come UFC fighters or champions dont go over and challenge Fedor?

UFC Fighters
bribri75 asked:

It seems that Fedor is not coming to the US to fight. I dont know why but think it might the octagon. Some fighters prefer a ring. I think Crocop didnt do so well because he prefers the ring over the octagon. So how come no one from the U.S. will go over and fight him?

Mister R

Matt Lindland went over to fight Fedor and Randy Couture has been begging for a fight in the media. I think the problem is that Fedor is just holding out for a big contract and wants to bring his whole team with him where ever he fights next.

it’s not that easy. The guys in the UFC sign exclusive deals. They can’t simply go over to another organization to fight. As a good of a sport it is, like every other sport, it’s also a business.

Besides, I’ve seen Fedor fight. I think he’s good, but I think he’s still overrated. Everyone he’s beaten who has been in UFC, or is currently in UFC, haven’t been doing well with the exception of
Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, and even he was lucky when he beat Silvia.

See what happened to Matt Lindland after he went to Russia. He is the top rated MMA middle-weight and cant get an offer from the UFC. Dana White has made it pretty clear that he doesn’t want his fighters going over there. But, keep your eyes on the new Dream promotion in Japan which just signed Cro-cop with the full blessing of Dana and the brothers.

Yes, I forgot about the Vegas Pride Match. I thought I read something about visa problems. Anyway.

Short answer- Politics

“It seems that Fedor is not coming to the US to fight.”

he is fighting in chicago in april or may for m1

“Fedor can not get a visa to enter the US. If he did sign with the UFC he could only participate in matches held outside of the US. See his record. Fedor has not fought outside of Asia and the old Soviet states.”

you are thinking of aleks. fedor has already fought in vegas and he has no visa issues.

but to answer your question it’s all about money. if a fighter leaves the ufc to fight fedor they are well aware they will not be accepted back into the ufc. since the ufc is at this point the global mma leader it would be unwise for a fighter to leave.

UFC fighters that are under contract are not allowed to fight in promotions for other companies. Thats why UFC won’t do randy couture/fedor, because they don’t want to help the other companies get publicity. Thats the main problem with why they won’t fight. Other fighters from other companies are signed the same way, though some have more flexability.

A lot of those guys are under and exclusive contract with the The UFC and can not go fight for or in another organization. Randy walked out of his contract and is hoping to fight Fedor by the end of the year. HDnet fights just sued the UFC to try and find out when Randy’s contract will expire so I bet the fight will be there. And not all, but ALOT of the money right now is with the UFC and most guys, unlike Randy, just want a belt and a payday.

Well because UFC doesn’t want to be advertising their people or Logo name(if you will) anywhere else…why? because thats money going to another organization. Thats making other fight clubs more popular than they are, meaning fighters and fans would think that that organization is pretty good….maybe better than UFC…get it?

The reason Fedor will not fight in the UFC is because they will never get him to sign an exclusive deal. He represents his country in national Sambo competitions, and Dana White will not allow him to take part in those tournaments while he is under a UFC contract.

Smart business move? Maybe. He needs to loosen his grip and skim off a little ego so he can realize how many true MMA fans want to see Randy vs Fedor. The money in that fight is massive, I wouldn’t doubt a PPV record, but my money says it won’t be under the UFC banner.

No UFC contracted fighter is going to Russia to fight him because of the exclusive clauses in their contracts. Hell, even non-UFC fighters would need a big incentive to go over there to fight him, because that guy would then be black-balled by Dana. When you are on his **** list you almost become invisible to the public eye, which translates to you making zero money in MMA.

Dana White is the one with the power. If he would realize that with his ****** attitude toward contracts it does nothing but hurt the sport and help his pocketbook. Fedor has stated that he would take on anyone. I also KNOW that he would kick the crap out of anyone. If you don’t know this, be smart not a smart *ss and look up his record. he beat Nogeria twice and Josh Barnette twice. I consider Fedor to be the #1 contender, but I consider Josh Barnette to be #2. Have you morons ever seen either of these 2 fight? They make the UFC look like a boy scout party.
