Where would I go to learn mixed martial arts and maybe have a shot at going pro?

Mixed Martial Arts
Joe asked:

Ive been wrestling for 4 years in highschool and was all-conference last year, im 14-3 this year going for my 3rd straight 20 win season on varsity, I have 7 years of boxing, and a few of tae kwon do. Where would I go to learn to put that all together?

Simple as that.

Boxing + wrestling is a great base for mixed martial arts. What you’ll need now, is some more clinch work, sweeps + submissions and some elbows, knees and kicks (Tae Kwon Do produces generally quick kicks, but they’re usually pretty low on power).

An MMA facility is up your alley. Find one near you that does full-contact sparring. Take up submission grappling – wrestling is great, but you *NEED* to know submissions in order to avoid being ‘that guy’ – you know, the fighter that takes a guy down and just plays points for fifteen minutes…see: Mark Coleman.

…not to mention, knowing submissions helps you not get caught in them and gives you an edge over straight kickboxers and other wrestlers (and you’ll quickly get away from that head and hands habit that plagues so many guys in that *just* wrestle).
