Yeah, he’s got great throws. To be honest though, Dong Hyun Kim should have won against Karo.

many judo throws can be executed with the initial position ….even without breaking the hold…watch how the olympian judokas play

the hold break can be realy usefull to break out of there hold you could also get them in a nice arm look useing this

lol they say they can do better and what not. but for some reason, no one has ever heard of them lol

he is a world class judoka and he even proved it agains’t don kim… Judo is karo’s world and his book is magnificent!!

Sorry guys, he isnt close to world class, in judo , he is good for mma but if you do your homework you will find out he isnt or never was world class in judo…. you want world class check out jimmy pedro or travis stevens

I Have seen this Move performed perfectly in a NHB event. The set up was different but the throw worked great. we practice the Seoi-Nagi set up in My MMA class. it takes a lot of work to get it right and without precision and speed your chance of getting your Back taken is quite high. but when it works it works well.

I have never fought mma but I have been in alot of Judo competitions. Personally almost every time someone tries to do this I take their back. Granted I have alot more experience defending this that someone who does not train alot of Judo might. Just a personal thought. Karo does a great job of breaking it down though. Cheers.

i dunno about this move in Mma… Has anyone seen this throw successfully done in an Mma fight?? Cuz it seems like unless the guy your fighting is weak as hell its not going to work…

If you pull this off in a fight, it’s a great way to go into armbar. Will mess your opponent’s day up.

its not ippon its drop seoi nage, ippon is from standing. And I’ve felt this throw its just as powerful as the standing version.
