How do wrestler’s & UFC fighters lose it?

UFC Fighters
KatieJ asked:

How do these guys lose like 10-20 pounds in two days to meet their weigh in? I’m really curious. Its got to be really bad for their heart. Thanks.

mostly water weight
honestly no joke they are alot worse off
im a wrestler and constantly see my friends dropping 3 lbs the day before a meet
its alot better if u can keep it down and eat healthy and keep hydrated
its no so much bad for their heart
yes it is
but the head without water, dehydrated, dizzy, weak, slow, tired.
its alot of work but they can do it
the most ive lost and kept off was 6 in a day
but
hey wat are you gonna do
your expected to make a weight and have to do it
so to answer your question
they sweat alot and dont eat at all

Fasting and sweating… they start eating less a bit earlier, and in the last couple of days they loose extra liquids by sweating them out….and yes, it wouldn’t be too healthy in the long run. Then again they only need to be at the weight for the duration of the weigh-in.

A lot of them will use diuretics and laxatives to lose weight as well as spend alot of time in saunas. They’ll also fast a few days before the weigh in. None of that is really healthy and abusing laxatives and diuretics is part of how singer Karen Carpenter died.
